His relationship with his son, Robert Balboa Jr., is strained. Robert struggles to escape the shadow of his father’s legacy, creating emotional distance between them. Rocky, meanwhile, continues to visit Adrian’s grave, reflecting on the life they shared and the motivation she once gave him.

The current heavyweight champion, Mason Dixon, faces criticism from fans who see him as talented but uninspiring. When a sports network broadcasts a computer-simulated match between a prime Rocky and Dixon, the simulation predicts Rocky as the winner. The result sparks widespread debate and reignites public interest in Rocky.

Motivated by this unexpected attention—and by a feeling he describes as having “stuff in the basement”—Rocky decides to return to boxing for a small exhibition fight. Though many question his age and ability, Rocky passes the required medical tests and begins training again, determined to prove something to himself rather than chase fame.

As interest grows, the exhibition turns into a high-profile match between Rocky and Mason Dixon in Las Vegas. For Dixon, the fight is an opportunity to gain respect by defeating a legend. For Rocky, it is a chance to confront his past and rediscover his purpose.
