Grudge Match is a boxing comedy-drama that brings together two aging rivals from the ring for one final, long-overdue showdown. The film stars Sylvester Stallone as Henry “Razor” Sharp and Robert De Niro as Billy “The Kid” McDonnen, two former Pittsburgh boxers whose bitter rivalry defined their careers in the 1980s.

Decades ago, the two fighters were local legends — each holding one victory over the other. Just before their anticipated third and deciding fight, Razor suddenly retired from boxing without explanation, ending their rivalry and leaving fans — and The Kid — furious. Since then, their lives have gone in opposite directions: Razor has been working a blue-collar job in a steel mill, while The Kid owns a successful restaurant and enjoys fame built on nostalgia.

Thirty years later, fight promoter Dante Slate Jr. (Kevin Hart) convinces the retired fighters to appear together in a motion-capture boxing video game. Their meeting quickly turns into a brawl that goes viral online — reigniting public interest in their long-forgotten feud. Smelling opportunity, Dante organizes a highly publicized rematch dubbed “Grudge Match”, promising both men money and a shot at redemption.

As training begins, Razor struggles with physical pain and self-doubt, while The Kid deals with emotional baggage — including reconnecting with his estranged son, B.J. (Jon Bernthal), and former flame Sally (Kim Basinger). Despite their age, both men push themselves back into fighting shape, trading insults and humor as they prepare for the big event.

The climactic fight in the ring is equal parts brutal and hilarious, with both men showing heart, pride, and respect. By the end, the “grudge match” becomes less about winning and more about proving that age doesn’t define courage, determination, or dignity.
