Driven (2001)
Driven (2001) is an adrenaline-fueled sports drama directed by Renny Harlin and written by Sylvester Stallone, who also stars in the film. Realizing that Jimmy needs guidance, Carl decides to bring back a retired veteran driver, Joe Tanto (Sylvester Stallone), to mentor him. Tanto, once a star himself, left the sport after a traumatic crash and a failed marriage to Cathy (Gina Gershon), who is now with another driver on the team. Though rusty and haunted by his past, Tanto accepts the challenge — not only to help Jimmy but also to find his own redemption.
As the racing season progresses, the rivalry between Jimmy and Beau intensifies both on and off the track. Jimmy becomes romantically involved with Sophia (Estella Warren), Beau’s ex-girlfriend, which only fuels the tension further. Meanwhile, Tanto tries to teach Jimmy that true success in racing isn’t just about speed — it’s about control, focus, and heart.
