Escape Plan: The Extractors (2019)
Escape Plan: The Extractors (2019) is the third installment in the action-thriller series starring Sylvester Stallone as security expert and escape artist Ray Breslin. The film delivers a more grounded, gritty rescue mission centered on loyalty, revenge, and redemption.
The story begins when Daya Zhang, the daughter of Hong Kong tech CEO Wu Zhang, is kidnapped by a mysterious group of mercenaries. A package arrives for Wu containing a USB drive and a bloody piece of Daya’s clothing. The message is clear: the kidnappers want revenge against Ray Breslin and demand Wu’s involvement because Breslin’s company was supposed to provide top-tier security.

Wu travels to the U.S. to seek Ray’s help. Ray learns that the mastermind behind the abduction is Lester Clark Jr., the son of his former partner-turned-enemy, Lester Clark, from the first film. Holding a personal grudge, Clark Jr. blames Ray for destroying his father’s life and intends to make him suffer by targeting those connected to him.
The kidnappers have taken Daya to an abandoned factory compound in Latvia, now transformed into a heavily guarded fortress. Ray assembles a small but deadly team: Trent DeRosa (Dave Bautista), a fearless close-combat specialist, and Hush (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson), Ray’s loyal tech expert. Wu insists on joining the mission, determined to save his daughter at any cost.

Upon arriving in Latvia, the team faces brutal ambushes, tactical traps, and heavily armed guards. The compound’s layout is disorienting, designed with kill zones and choke points. As Ray navigates the deadly environment, he reflects on past mistakes that led Clark Jr. down a dark path, adding emotional weight to the confrontation.
Meanwhile, Daya befriends another captive, Bao, and the two attempt to survive long enough for rescue. Their scenes highlight the psychological terror inside the compound as Clark Jr. toys with his prisoners and prepares for a final showdown.
The climax explodes into intense hand-to-hand combat and gunfights. DeRosa delivers high-impact action sequences, while Ray engages in a brutal fight with Lester Clark Jr., confronting the consequences of old betrayals. Ultimately, Ray kills Clark Jr., while Wu rescues Daya and escapes with Ray’s team.
The film closes with Ray battered but alive, contemplating the cost of vengeance and the people he protects. Though darker and more stripped-down than its predecessors, Escape Plan: The Extractors emphasizes loyalty, sacrifice, and the relentless determination of a man who never quits.
