Tango & Cash
Tango & Cash is an action-comedy about two rival Los Angeles police officers who are forced to work together after being framed by a powerful criminal mastermind. Lieutenant Ray Tango is a polished, intelligent narcotics officer who enjoys wealth, tailored suits, and a reputation for precision. His opposite is Lieutenant Gabriel Cash, a streetwise, rough-edged cop who relies on instinct, humor, and brute force. Despite working toward the same goal—fighting drug trafficking—the two men constantly compete with each other for recognition and arrests.
Their rivalry attracts the attention of Yves Perret, a wealthy international crime boss whose drug empire has been repeatedly disrupted by both officers. Determined to eliminate them, Perret devises a plan to frame Tango and Cash for murder. Using corrupt officials and fabricated evidence, he orchestrates a trap that leads to both officers being arrested and convicted of killing an undercover FBI agent.
Sentenced to prison, Tango and Cash are thrown into a brutal environment filled with criminals they previously arrested. The inmates, eager for revenge, target the two cops. At first, Tango and Cash clash constantly, blaming each other for their situation. However, they soon realize that survival depends on cooperation.
Through quick thinking and determination, they escape from prison and set out to prove their innocence. While on the run, the two begin investigating the conspiracy that put them behind bars. Their search leads them closer to Perret and his criminal network. Along the way, Cash develops a playful but protective relationship with Tango’s sister, Katherine, which adds both humor and tension to their partnership.
As the investigation unfolds, Tango and Cash gradually develop respect for each other’s abilities. Tango’s intelligence and planning complement Cash’s fearless aggression. Together, they uncover the full scope of Perret’s operation and gather evidence exposing his manipulation of the justice system.
The story builds to a dramatic showdown at Perret’s heavily guarded headquarters. Armed with determination and an array of improvised weapons, Tango and Cash launch an assault on the compound. After battling Perret’s armed forces, they confront the crime boss directly and defeat him, dismantling his organization.
With the truth revealed, Tango and Cash clear their names and regain their positions in the police force. Though their rivalry continues, it evolves into a mutual respect built through shared danger and teamwork.
