The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz follows the magical journey of Dorothy Gale, a young girl living on a Kansas farm who dreams of a life beyond her dull surroundings. She lives with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry, along with her beloved dog Toto. After a conflict with a neighbor, Dorothy runs away but soon returns home just as a powerful tornado strikes.

Caught in the storm, Dorothy is transported to the colorful and fantastical Land of Oz. When her house lands, it accidentally kills the Wicked Witch of the East. Dorothy is greeted as a hero by the inhabitants and meets Glinda the Good Witch, who advises her to seek help from the mysterious Wizard of Oz if she wants to return home.

To find the wizard, Dorothy follows the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City. Along the way, she meets three companions: the Scarecrow, who wishes for a brain; the Tin Man, who longs for a heart; and the Cowardly Lion, who desires courage. Together, they form a loyal friendship and support each other on their journey.

However, they are pursued by the Wicked Witch of the West, who seeks revenge for her sister’s death and wants Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. The witch repeatedly tries to capture Dorothy, creating obstacles and danger along the way.

When the group finally reaches the Emerald City, they are granted an audience with the Wizard. He appears as a powerful and intimidating figure but refuses to help them unless they defeat the Wicked Witch of the West. Reluctantly, they set out on this dangerous task.

During a confrontation at the witch’s castle, Dorothy accidentally destroys the witch by splashing her with water. Victorious, they return to the Wizard, only to discover he is not a magical being, but an ordinary man using illusions. Despite this, he helps each of them realize they already possess the qualities they seek—intelligence, compassion, and bravery.
