Cyborg (1989) 

Cyborg (1989) is a dystopian science fiction action film directed by Albert Pyun and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as the protagonist, Gibson Rickenbacker. Accompanied by a young woman named Nady Simmons, who is also desperate to stop Fender, Gibson battles his way through a series of brutal encounters with Fender’s gang. The journey is filled with intense hand-to-hand combat, showcasing Van Damme’s martial arts skills. As Gibson fights his way to Atlanta, the film delves into his tragic backstory and explores themes of redemption, survival, and justice.

The climax of the film features a fierce showdown between Gibson and Fender in a rain-drenched urban wasteland. The two engage in a brutal, extended fight, culminating in Gibson finally killing Fender, avenging his past and securing Pearl’s safety. With Pearl free to deliver the cure to scientists, there is renewed hope for humanity.
