Top Gun: Maverick revisits legendary naval aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell decades after the events of the original film. Among the pilots is Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of Maverick’s late best friend, Goose. Maverick and Rooster share unresolved tension rooted in the past—Maverick once blocked Rooster’s entry into flight school to protect him, a decision Rooster has never forgiven. Stranded without support, the two must work together to escape, confronting their past and rebuilding trust in the process.
In a daring final sequence, Maverick and Rooster steal an enemy fighter jet and engage superior aircraft, surviving against overwhelming odds until backup arrives. Their survival symbolizes emotional reconciliation as much as tactical success.
